What this is

Pitch Latvia is a free TechChill community initiative. We work in tech. We travel, pitch, sell and raise internationally. But when someone asks, “Why Latvia?”, we don’t always tell the same story.

So TechChill asks the community for one shared 30-second pitch for Latvia: a few sentences we can all stand behind.

How it works

1. Write your pitch: 10 to 75 words, about 30 seconds out loud.
2. Confirm by email. Your pitch goes live only after you click the link.
3. Pick between two pitches by other people: the one you’d rather say. Names show after you pick. Pairs open once there are 12 pitches, up to 10 pairs a day.
4. Every pick moves the ranking. The strongest lines become the shared pitch. We publish it right here, free for anyone to use.

How the ranking works

Each pick counts as a win for the chosen pitch against the other one. Every 10 minutes we recompute a score for every pitch from all picks so far (a Bradley–Terry model), so beating a strong pitch counts for more than beating a weak one. The list of all pitches is sorted by that score.

One person, one pitch: a newer version replaces your older one and starts its ranking from zero.

What “send” and the email mean

The last step does not publish anything. We email you one link. Your pitch is published only after you click it. The link works once and expires in 24 hours. If you ignore the email, nothing is published, and unconfirmed pitches are deleted after 7 days.

Your name is shown with your pitch. Your email never is.

Moderation

Automated checks read every pitch first. Pitches rejected by moderation are not stored. Some pitches need a quick check by a person before they are published. Automated checks and people may reject, hide or remove any pitch or vote.

Write in your own words, in good faith, about Latvia: no insults, hate, spam, ads or other people’s personal data.

Inviting friends

After you pitch, you can invite up to 3 friends a day. We email each friend once from Pitch Latvia, with your name and your link. Their replies go to you. The email says you entered their address, and has a link to never get invitations again. We keep only a hashed copy of their address, to prevent repeat emails.

Or write it yourself: we prepare a draft for Gmail, Outlook or your mail app.

Your data

We keep your pitch, name and email, and your company and job title if you add them. Your pitch, name, company and job title are public; your email never is. Your pitch is published under CC BY 4.0, and you keep your copyright.

No account. No newsletter. No sales calls. We only email links to verify your pitch or sign you back in. Details are in the Privacy policy and the Terms.
